The University Diploma (DU) Passerelle is aimed at students in exile (political refugees, asylum seekers, and those under subsidiary protection) who hold at least a secondary school diploma (equivalent to the Baccalauréat). It is necessary to present a university project (continuing or resuming studies) in order to gain access to the training.

Training objectives

Enabling students in exile to:

  • Become "autonomous" in the French language to enroll in a LMD program (starting from level B2).
  • Acquire intercultural skills that ensure successful integration and mastery of the codes of the French university system. From the early levels, cultural activities, support for orientation, university integration, and socio-professional integration are offered.
  • Access optional courses to strengthen their cultural competencies.


Training content

For each level, the Units of Teaching (UE) related to language training are the same as those in the University Diploma of French Studies (DUEF). An additional UE is specific to the DU Passerelle.

This Unit of Teaching aims to provide support to students in exile to facilitate their integration. This may include cultural activities, orientation workshops through La Fabrique, participation in a mentoring program for foreign students, and/or for levels starting from "preparation for B2," attending a specialized course in their area of interest. These activities contribute to defining a university integration project and are mandatory for validating the DU.
 

Organization of the Training

  • About the levels

Each semester corresponds to a level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). After reviewing the application files, students at levels A1 and A2 are directed to the PASREL project.

  • Start of classes :
    • Semester 1 : from september to december
    • Semester 2 : from february to june.
  • Progression of the degree:
    • B1 ou B2 : 1 semester per level, 290 to 310 hours
    • C1 : One-year degree, 252 to 272 hours.

To determine which level group the student will be placed in, the teaching team conducts a French language test upon arrival at the FLEURA Center.

The test consists of two stages:

  1. A written test
  2. An oral interview

Amount of registration fees

Current fee rate : �3,200 / year

A specific request for exemption from tuition fees can be made to Clermont Auvergne University.

Each student enrolled in the Passerelle program receives a student card that grants access to the facilities available to all registered university students. Subject to meeting the access requirements, students enrolled in this program may be eligible for CROUS scholarships.
