Launched in February 2019 by the FLEURA Center and the University of Clermont Auvergne, the project "Artistic and Sporting Practices, Encounters, Creative Writing, French Language (PASREL)" aims to promote cultural and linguistic integration as well as academic and professional inclusion for exiled and refugee individuals. The project is unique in its ability to connect various local stakeholders around a common theme.

It enables university institutions, cultural organizations, and associations focused on integration to collaborate in order to create synergy in the region around the reception of migrants.

This project is aimed at individuals in exile (political refugees, asylum seekers, and those under subsidiary protection) at levels A1 and A2 exclusively.

Training content

The project offers each year a maximum of two groups of about fifteen people:

  • French language courses,
  • Theater and music workshops in collaboration with university students, allowing practical application of the French language courses,
  • Cultural outings and activities related to the French language courses,
  • Meetings for real interaction with the local population.

A cultural event is organized at the end of each project to showcase the work of the learners and the connections that have developed throughout the project between the learners, students, and members of the partner associations and organizations.

To conclude the training, the learners take a French language certification (DELF) recognized worldwide.

Funding

The PASREL project is co-funded by the FAMI (Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund).

However, learners must comply with the attendance requirement if they wish to be eligible for the DELF exam at the end of the training.
