Conférence Intermediality Leena Eilitt? (Université d'Helsinki)
From Interdisciplinarity to Intermediality Conférence de Leena Eilitt? (Université d'Helsinki) 1/12/2021 - 17h30 - MSH 4 rue Ledru - Amphi 220 et par Teams (contact: Fanny.Platelle@uca.fr) This lecture addresses the changes which have taken place in the understanding of relations between the arts in the past decades. Whereas once these relations were discussed in interdisciplinary/ interart terms, the rapidly changing scene of theoretical discussion has introduced new concepts, terms and ideas to be reassessed. While making us aware of the medial communication between the arts, intermediality draws attention to the aesthetic presence of other arts in those cases that have frequently been discussed merely as ?translations? from one art to another. However, although the term intermediality puts interdisciplinary relations into a new medial context, we should bear in mind that intermediality forms a link to earlier forms of poetic understanding such as ekphrasis, ut pictura poesis and the sister arts.
